  • Dr. Nicklesh Thakur specializes in movement disorders, deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's disease, and essential tremor in dystonia patients. He is board certified in neurology and psychiatry.
  • He leads research studies in Parkinson’s disease, cervical dystonia, and spasticity, and he is a Principal Investigator for national, multicenter clinical trials evaluating the efficacy and safety of new treatments for these disorders of the nervous system.
  • Dr. Thakur presents nationally on advances in the management and treatment of Parkinson’s disease, and the characteristics and pathophysiology of movement disorders including essential tremor and dystonia.

Training

Dr. Thakur received his D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, and he conducted residency training in neurology at the University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center. He completed a fellowship in movement disorders at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.
